Watercraft

Definitions

Boat: If you own a boat, you know the sport can be relaxing, adventurous and dangerous. The US Coast Guard reports that there were 6,419 recreational boating accidents reported in 2001. A boat policy safeguards your boat, boating equipment and accessories. It also protects you with liability and medical payments coverage.

Personal Watercraft: Although personal watercraft (PWC) are often considered in the boat category, depending on the type of watercraft, horsepower and speed, they may be best covered on a stand alone PWC policy.

Inland Marine: An Inland Marine policy is designed to protect specific property with broader coverage than a homeowner policy. Coverage can be written on an all-risk, open-perils or named perils. Special policy floaters can cover a variety of items such as fine art, furs, jewelry, electronic equipment and more.
